Nigerian hip-hop star and BET Award winner, Panshak Zamani popularly known as Ice Prince launched his second album, Fire Of Zamani to a packed out audience on Saturday November 23, 2013. The big-budget concert which was put together by his record label, Chocolate City took place at the prestigious Expo Center of Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The explosive concert featured various electrifying musical performances from the Fire Of Zamani album. It was followed by a captivating dance performance by the DNMT crew showing contemporary dance moves to popular hits like Skelewu and Khona. Chocolate City’s Pryse delivered a thrilling performance for her spanking new single, Niger Delta Money.

Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon who was the host for the evening, did not fail to dazzle the audience with big diction as he welcomed Ice Prince for the first time on the Fire Of Zamani stage. Ice Prince's performance with Chocolate City VP, MI was a mix of emotions and energy as MI blessed Ice Prince before the crowd. Their high energy, Hausa themed dance performance of Action Film had the crowd begging for more.

Urban UK artiste, Chip formerly known as Chipmunk who was in Nigeria for the first time delivered an energetic performance with Ice prince for the track Mercy. Ice Prince introduced him to his fellow Nigerian entertainers, telling Chip not to forget names like Don Jazzy, D’Banj and Iyanya. By the time Chip was doing a solo performance of Every Gyal, the Fire Of Zamani concert was nothing short of a music festival.

Organizers postponed CHASE Awards [@chaseawards] 2013 till March 2014

The organizers of CHASE Awards, formerly YEM Awards, om, 22 November 2013 announce that the 2013 edition of the award including  the announced novelty match has been postponed till March 2014. The suspension also covers all  other unannounced  line up activities mapped out by the organizers.

“We are sorry to announce that the CHASE Awards 2013 including earlier announced novelty match scheduled for Sunday, 24th November, 2013 has been postponed till March 2014  due to circumstances beyond our control as the organizers are currently youth corp members serving in different states of the country are finding it difficult with the NYSC authority to return to Lagos and plan for the awards” says Osein Olakunle , producer of the awards says.

He further add; “However, we hope to put things in order as soon as possible by the grace of God and we might carry on with the award this year. We want to thank all our supporters especially managements of Jevenik event center and Campus mini stadium who have agreed to host activities for this year’s edition of the award for still standing by us, and to our nominees, we want to assure you that whenever the award will hold, it will be best and glamours ”.   

The Payback Media organised awards however state that the voting process remains on and it would close by 15th of December while promising to announce a new date in the coming year.

Adeyemi Abosede, a comedian from the city of Ibadan didn’t expect to be called an idiot on national television, but the appalling nature of his act couldn’t fetch him anything better.

Corporately dressed, Adeyemi came all set to wow the judges and viewers, but his act earned him a comment from Yibo, “any idiot can be a comedian, not this one.”

Nigeria’s Got Talent [@naijagottalent] debuts on TV with a bang!

Last week Sunday, November 17, 2013, one of the most anticipated shows on nationwide television, Nigeria’s Got Talent premiered.

Aired on NTA, STV, Soundcity, ONTV and various Startimes Channels, the big-budgeted reality show saw us through the city of Ibadan with quite a number of talents ranging from acrobats to dancers, to motorbike riders (popularly known as okada riders) and many more, summing up to the good, bad and extremely ugly.

Hosted by Andre Blaze, the judging trio of Kate Henshaw, Dan Foster and Yibo Koko came all prepared. “Ibadan does have talent,” said Yibo Koko. “Some unique, some awesome and a few misplaced acts, but all in all it was a very good show.”

Kicking off the show was The Unique Dance Crew. They came prepared to wow the judges and they didn’t fail at their mission as Kate commended them for opening the show with such an amazing performance.

Slow, steady and pleasant the show went till it was the turn of Adeyemi Abosede the comedian. His act was not only an apology but it also unleashed the bitter side of Yibo Koko who referred to Adeyemi as someone worse than an idiot.

Despite the horror brought by some of the acts, a few of the contestants were able to earn awesome remarks from the judges. 9-year-old, David Adekoya received endless praises after his drumming performance. Laff Doctor and Ismail Ayanfe, a Fuji singer also excelled in the sight of the judges.

Ever seen Kate Henshaw explode in anger? Get ready to witness this and much more on the next episode of Nigeria’s Got Talent, with hopefuls from Asaba and Port Harcourt taking a shot at N10 million.
